Yes and no. It depends if you buy the software & cables...or an app that can register the battery.


Any BMW model built after the e38/e39/e46/e53 generation (last of the old gen BMWs) will require battery registration. So if a new gen BMW (e90/e60/e65/e66/e70/e71/upward) is in your future...you'll either need to get software/app/etc to be able to code and communicate with your BMW or you'll have to depend on a dealer or Indy mechanic.
