Nice find and welcome back! Same year and color as mine. Appears to be in good shape and can be made to look fantastic. What is it's mileage? Have you had the codes read if any? In any case, I would do the following and follow up with what the codes say:
1) Have the cooling system pressure tested to make sure there're no leaks and then flush it.
2) Drain/refill the differential oils.
3) Flush the brake fluid and of course change the brakes depending on how much left.
5) Would do with a thorough detail and refinish the drivers seat. Of course, have the headlights polished during this time.
6) Replace the head unit with an android one to bring your X5 to the current tech.
7) I would also look into transmission filter/fluid change (not a fluid flash).


If you're a DIY type, that vehicle is fairly fun and easy to work on. Those mechanical issues you pointed out are all easy pizzy.
