Well, now that you mention it, I dunno. My 2004 4.8is came with the donut. I thought there was a thread on here that went through the hows and whats. Of course, never having plans to own a 4.4, I haven't paid one LICK of attention to the discussions ab them.

I guess I have some catching up to do.
  • Like, is the N62 4.4 a belt driven fan? It's not on the 4.8. (Found it.)
  • Do the N62 4.8 and 4.4 share that damn alternator bracket gasket weakness?
  • Do the N62 4.4's have an oil cooler up front? Transmission I think? I forget.
  • Is the air filter the same? I have an extra K&N I rotate in on the 4.8. I was gonna take it with for the long ride home.
  • Is the 4.4 cooling system different from the 4.8? Mine did great until I replaced it proactively at ~125k miles (think I found it)
  • Is the oil filter the same? Alternator? What other things are unique?

Of course, I could look it all up, but where's the fun in that? I'm looking for the N62 4.4 folks that I suddenly need pay a lot more attention to?
