Attached to, not close. Should be just above the alternator/ ps pump. You can follow the lower hose going into the heater valves and trace toward the radiator. On the 6 cyl the airbox is in the way on the M62 the coolant reservoir will be in the way. N62 I'm not sure .

It's pretty obvious when running. You can feel the vibration no problem.
