You can undo a few 6mm bolts along the forward edges and pivot it down enough to get in and change a fuel filter (my 3.0d fuel filter is under one of these covers) so that my give you enough room to check out the solenoid. Access won't look like the image above though - more like this: -

*EDIT* - example only - the accumulator assembly is actually on the other side of the car.
