I'm not convinced that the failure of the moist sensor would stop the AC from working. It would not start the AC on the grounds of fogging up but there's no logic in my mind in stopping it altogether.



Even if it is the compressor, these can be refurbished, be happy that it holds the pressure. The evaporator is a pain to replace if that is leaking.
