100C is optimal as moisture buildup due to condensation boils out.

,,,, For transmissions cooler is always better

Also closed system so there should not be any moisture (H2O) in oil, if there is water it a transmission the boiling water at 100C is gonna reek havoc on solenoid seals and clutch packs

I am very courteous for feedback from the E70 X5d community, as the M57 is a torque monster... if I keep this vehicle, DPF/SCR deletes with 2.5 tune are on my horizon, and I don’t want to be smoke checking the transmission
