I use the Schwaben by Foxwell for BMW/Mini that, by the way, is currently on sale at either Turner Motorsports or ESC Tuning, don't remember which.

In cases of a rough idle I check for codes as an indication of what simple, easy, quick troubleshooting I can do for confirmation. In your case since you only have codes for MAF and TB, no codes for a particular cylinder or cylinders the first thing I would do is a pressurized smoke test making sure there are no vacuum leaks, focusing especially between the MAF and throttle body. The inlet tube is a common source of a vacuum leak or the tube might not be sealed properly on the throttle body. If there is no vacuum leak anywhere it is on to eliminating the MAF as the problem. I would then make sure the connector and wiring to the MAF are good. If the idle doesn't change when the MAF connection is removed that can be an indication the MAF is not functioning since the engine reverts to computer setting for Air/fuel mixture when connection is not in place. Sometimes when there is a secondary problem the change is hard to hear or measure. Does the engine seem to be louder at an idle and sound like it is roaring but not revving accordingly or won't rev to redline? That is another indication the MAF might be faulty. I am not saying the MAF is the problem, only that it should be completely eliminated before moving to other possibilities.

Best practice when purchasing 3rd. party parts is to be sure they are produced by the original maker of the BMW part or an established 3rd. party improved on the original part.
