Question for any of the DIY'ers here:
My '07 3.0si shredded a belt and part of the belt got wrapped around, then took out the front crank seal. Rented the removal/install tool kit from eeuroparts. The removal tool uses 6 sheet metal screws to grab the edge of the seal, and is supposed to pull the seal out. Unfortunately, the screws keep pulling out without the seal.

I have ordered the other style tool that threads into the seal and pulls it out.

Does it make the seal removal easier if the engine is brought up to temperature first; since the aluminum block will expand faster than the steel ring in the seal? I'm not talking about running it for a long time, just 10-15 mins to warm up the block.
Thanks in advance
