The mix match tires hints at tires not top quality and better odds the problem is internal. If they are more or less worn then they are going different speeds and can also cause a shimmy.

Apologies to all IF this is the reason (odd tires), bad thing is all the tire balancing guys I went to refuse to balance! stating the fact that I have mismatched tires and no point, as to the exent of wear on each i would say they are pretty much the same but impossible to say for sure exactly if there is a rolling circumference difference....thanks though for all your time on this...can we say for sure that the steering wobble is actually the wheels shifting slightly left to right? guess I will find out if my tires are toast sooner rather than later....
from day 1 i had too much rear camber, corrected that believe or not by shifting to 17" alloys 235.65 but a year or so later and after passing over an item on the highway my fronts started to wear, had the front thrust bushings done and also one wishbone, year later all tires I had on x5 (all the same type) were worn mostly on outer left side...sooo then had the rear rose busings done and the other link as shown in the pic...an alignment so now a wait and see
