Since you have DSP your options may be limited for a simple plug and play. I have DSP and went with the Avin Avant-4 and works really good and the sound quality through the DSP is even better than stock. One thing you will need if you decide to keep the DSP system is the iBus adapter and app with the aftermarket head unit that sends the signals to the DSP to keep it happy.
There are several threads you can read and decide which head unit is right for you. There are 10" tablet screens and some that look more like the factory unit, it comes down to user preference.
One last reminder, the "social media apps" you mention are available but I don't use them either. I use apps that provide functionality like:
- Backup camera
- Dash cam recorders that provide front and rear recording at all times with lane departure and collision avoidance warnings
- Voice command navigation
- Bluetooth A2DP streaming music
- Wireless Car Play/Android Auto
- The ability to program features into the BMW modules through the iBus
One of our members actually has his X5 linked to his Smart Home and can turn on entry lights, inside lighting, disable alarm system, set climate and open garage door from miles away before arriving home. You are basically limited to your imagination with the Android system and functionality.
