Bringing up this older thread may be relevant to others and not just myself, who are experiencing the same issues. My truck is going in next week for a faulty transmission parking pin which causes a run away vehicle if parked on an incline. My truck is a 02/06 make which falls outside the dates in the SIB the OP posted, but has the same transmission and the same issues. I’d like to see if BMW can get someone to flash the tranny software while it’s in their shop. Else, if I understand the OP correctly, I can do it myself with INPA?
