IT could be a number of things, mostly onboard computer modules acting up. It also sounds like a possible harness connector issue. Try using Deoxit on the connectors.
You're going to need a computer with BMW software (INPA or ISTA) to scan the car and determine the cause.
You can do it yourself if you put the time and effort into building a cheap laptop as a BMW scanner and learn how to use the software. IT's not easy, but it's part of owning a BMW if you're not a rich banker. The software is freely available and there's lots of resources to guide you.
Or you can find a good local BMW independent mechanic. They're usually better than the dealer techs (except for the one senior guy who only does the really hard stuff).
