Fill the system with the engine and ignition off, heater settings on hot. Once expansion tank is full, open bleed valves and turn on ignition (but don't start the engine!). Aux pump will circulate coolant and drive out air. When coolant flows from bleed valves (cover your alternator!!), close them. Keep topping up via expansion tank until full. Turn ignition off. Replace cap. Job done.

At least, that's the process on the L6 engines - I thinks it's the same on the V8s.
