Helper to hold things or at least a vice will help removing things without breaking. It's not hard to open the seal with the o-ring it's the other that is difficult. If you take your time and use a couple small screwdrivers you can. Open without breaking. You can hold together with a hose clamp if needed if it breaks. I think I used zip ties in my wife's when the tab snapped off.
