R-12 was the one before r134a. In older cars that were converted from 12 to 134 sometimes they were weak. A fix was to use an r12 alternative that was based on butane, etc but I can't remember the name now. It's closer to the original r12 pressures. 134 went higher and 1234yf much higher.
