Thumbs down Dipstick not reading correctly

Can someone please give me some ideas as to why in the world I can't get an accurate reading on this dipstick? I recently replaced ALL timing chain components (gears, chains, guides and tentioners), front crank seal, gaskets and orings. New water pump and all that good stuff... The dipstick was reinserted all the way in and clicked into place, little Y shaped bracket was installed with TOP facing up and small nut was bolted back down. I'm getting only a small amount on the tip of the dipstick and then small sections up the rest of the stick. Scanned the car, absolutely no codes except for the oil level sensor and a code for an unrelated and unimportant sensor. With the level sensor not working, I cannot tell how much oil is in it after it had leaked. Planning on replacing the sensor next weekend but don't want to drive it till then. Any ideas? I have also tried searching but every time I click search it instantly closes and doesn't let me type into the search field. Google doesn't help either... Thanks in advance!
