Wow I may have stumbled onto literally the easiest possible e53 repair job that requires tools.

Pro tip: let the engine cool a bit before doing this job. The high pressure AC line will almost certainly interact with your wrist during this job.

5mm hex in a mini ratchet is all you need for tools.

Glad it's easy I get to do it two more times in the near future.

I put in a temporary knock off because wife's car was setting a code for intermittent signal every other drive and I won't have the OEM parts for a while. I also am getting one for me, my car is about 5000 miles higher.

Interesting that she got a code for the exhaust (ed) cps but neither of us got a cps related code when the intake version failed (right around 128-130,000 miles).
