Ditto Andrewwynn...the FZV/DWA (central locking/anti-theft alarm siren) systems instruction say that ALL the remote keys (up to 4) need to be initialized during the same session. Also, don't fall into the camp that misunderstands that the EWS function of the remote keys (the starter/immobilizing system) is the same as the FZV/DWA features of the remote keys. They are totally different and even operate on different radio frequencies.

EWS uses a 125 KHz AM frequency...and communicates between the DME/ECU, EWS control module, Ring Antenna, and remote key. EWS doesn't even use the battery inside the remote...it is self powered through induction by the ring antenna around the ignition cylinder.

FZV/DWA uses 315 MHz (in the No America market) and 433 MHz in Europe...and the communication path is the RF signal transmitted by the remote when a button is pressed to the aerial in the rear left cargo window, to the receiver amps in the rear, then eventually up to the GM where the command is sent to central locking and to the anti-theft components to lock/unlock and arm/disarm.

{take note of the 2nd paragraph}
