That seal is an o-ring. I thought we were talking about the seal for the driveshaft into the diff.

If it is leaking when it is HOT i would check the vent tube for the front diff to make sure it is not plugged up. There's a reason for that vent tube.
The front diff need to be out to change the oil gasket. The front shaft driver-side has a gasket and between the front diff and the oil pan metal sleeve and o ring the leak comes from or around the metal sleeve.
The service tech at the dealer recommended to use new bolts and torque 60 and not 55 if I am not going to replace the pan. His thought that the heat and the movement may made the sleeves not seal to the oil pan good. In the event that did not help he stated that I need to look into replacing the pan. He said the sleeves looks good and no scratches on it but he said to replace the o ring and the sleeves anyway.
