Clockwork is on a distinguished road
I grabbed 3 MIDs from a pic your part yard for $12 only. 2 are desperately needing a cable and 1 is pretty swell (other than a missing line here and there) so for the cheap price of a ribbon (I tried the AKSpeedo one already and it's not that good as the pressure from chrome clip needs to apply a LOT and the metal just bends back not causing as much as needed) so I'm gonna try the soldering route now I guess. Too bad cause I have 2 AKSpeedo ribbons now that are useless to me. Wonder if I could just heat press those on with a T iron or does a special glue need to be applied first?

Edit:
I was able to use the non-iron type ribbon to repair a MID but it's extremely frustrating and finicky. If I didn't have a second ribbon, I'd say f it and pay someone else to do it. Took me about 10 hours to finally get it right by the third time. I'm thinking the iron-on type would be much easier to work with as they will stay in place SO much better than these from AKSpeedo, but yes they do work.
