Resetting the adaptation is not a fix but should be performed when certain sensors or components are replaced m
The CEL hasn't come in because the ECU is still learning sensor input variances between the ideal sensor and your used sensors. Once it determines that one or more sensors fall outside the normal adaptation limits or other mechanical issue exists that prevents the adaptation values from correcting for, it will attempt to adjust trims to normalize operation. That will fail and you will see the CEL.
