Amsoil lists this fluid for transfer case

Looks like the same fluid as the transmission one. I guess in the end there isn't that much difference between transfer case and transmission fluid.

Normally I'd buy the dealer stuff, but one quart is $100 here in Canada. Not sure if it's better than Amsoil, which is a very reputable company.

Actually looks like if you don't have X drive, Dextron III (transmission fluid) is fine to use on transfer case.
