I haven't tried it, so I won't say much..but the NAV-equipped X5's have a bunch of stuff /wiring in the rear near the battery..which means you would have to source all that and install it. An aftermarket e53-specific Android unit with NAV, bluetooth, and bunch of other goodies is the way to go..I installed two xtrons units -one each in my 2 X5's ..One of which had factory NAV...

Come to think of it, if you do retrofit factory NAV, I think I have some of the pieces...although I think I sold the head unit...
