I have to say that Chinese isn't a race and being completely serious virus and bacterial outbreaks take the name of where they come from or where they 1st truly come to the attention of health professionals or the population.

Most every well known outbreak has followed that rule. Such as Ebola, Marburg, Legionnaires, Lyme disease (Lyme Connecticut) and Spanish flu. Most others are named due to specie of common carrier such as: Swine flu, Bird flu, etc.
