I tried this in my 350z with sucess. I was hoping to do the same for the X. Anyone tried this or know what strength would be needed to lift it autmoaticly once the release button is pushed. This really helps when your hands are full. Of course make sure that it won't hit anything(ie garage door) once released. After I did this on my 350z it was only alittle bit harder shuting but nothing one hand couldn't do. You can find everything needed to complete this at McMaster.com Thanks for any help, Rob
