i am concerned that an 18k gold watch will wear (gold is very soft); gold plated will leave the underlying metal exposed; will 'ruin' th elook of the watch.

steel, titanium... i prefer stainless. or my g-shock (its undestructable, and i wound up destroying my rolex 3 times-- not worth the $$$$ imho).

so, my dressy watch is my omega...
