I started hearing light squealing and squeaking from the blower motor off and on now since the winter. It definitely sounds like the bearings in the blower motor are failing. But I have been able to speed up the fan and the squeaking would disappear and be gone for weeks so it is a off and on issue.

Today, I left the house to go pick up the wife from work and no blower motor, nothing. Tried turning off the A/C and turned the fan level to 0 turning off the system and then switching the fan level back up to restart everything and still nothing. Nice, and it's 80F here today.

Got to her work and shut the car down for a few minutes and restarted the car and the fan started working but squeaking again. Raised the fan level all the way up to max and the squeaking stopped again and worked fine all the way home.

So the writing on the wall is this DIY is in my near future. Does anyone know if there is a way to lubricate the bearings in the motor without pulling the dash out for a temporary fix until I can source a new blower motor?

Secondly, anyone have recommendations on best blower motor source. I would only want Genuine BMW.
