I've been reading the posts on this thread. I think most of us believe in using protection measures to fight this virus outspread.
There's different degrees of protection and different strategies to go about protecting oneself.
Since virus itself is an indiscriminate phenomenon, I believe the protection regimen should be unilaterally the same in scope and duration, slightly adjusted for level of infection, difference in population density, geographic or demographic differences, etc.
Implementation of these protection regimen should be nationwide and should not be an individual decision. Too much freedom to do what one damn feels like doing will only break the chain in an otherwise complete protection circle. I remember a very prominent public figure who half-assedly recommended that all american people wear masks to protect themselves against Covid 19, then quickly, during the same speech, says he will NOT use masks as it is his freedom to choose.
Imagine having a layer of saran wrap covering your big bowl of soup to prevent dust from entering the soup.
Having individual freedom in choosing his/her own protection or NO PROTECTION is gonna open up your saran wrap just wide enough to allow dust to go in, and taint the ENTIRE bowl of soup.
It's not rocket science, people.
Please stop referring to your individual freedom to not care about other people's well being.
