Hello Xoutposters!
I recently hooked up a Zurich ZR-18 scanner to my 2005 x5 during our isolation time in 2020, and got a barrage of codes. I have one recurring symptom which I thought I fixed, a wet carpet on the drivers side even after checking pano roof drain tubes and cleaning/shortening them to operate properly. Any ideas on not so obvious leak sources?
I also have a new symptom, the rear axle seems to bind the wheel(s) upon turning sharply in a circle, its definately in RWD mode, and the 4x4 light is on, I'm assuming those two are related!
Anyways, here are the codes I got:
DME OEM enhanced code
1) 2E95 - Generator, DME OEM enhanced code (alternator seems to be charging fine)
2) 2E97 - Generator
3) 2F45 - Interface EWS - DME, (OEM enhanced code)
BMW OEM Enhanced EGS- Transmission Control
4) 4F7A- Message from LDM is wrong (Enhanced Transmission EGS control code)
5) 51B0 - Message (Brake-Light-Switch) From DSC is not Plausible
6) 4E87 - Magnetic- Valve 4 (Shiftlock)
7) 4FB2 - Gearbox internal error (watchdog)
ABS
8)5DD0 - UZ Error: Over voltage
9)5F3A - Clutch Gearbox-ECU: Clutch Is Open - Rear Wheel Drive!
10) 5EB0 - Steering Angle Sensor: Internal Error: Signal Invalid
11) 5F5B - CAN Message/Instrument cluster- Error: Instr2, ID 0x613: Km_Stand Sending Failure Identification
I am guessing here that one sensor could cause a bunch of these codes? Or something wet under the carpet causing some of this too? And others may have been caused from a low battery while ignition was on but not running?
Any assistance into this from you guys would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
