Yes, replace in pairs. Philips/Osram are good brands. Color change is a good indication one is going out.

You can ignore the SAP. But I think I would put in a used unit before I would ignore it. It will seize eventually and throw a code. Plus that 10-20 seconds of screeching at first startup of the day would tear at my soul.
