Killing an RNA virus is symantic. We "kill the lights" "kill the engine" etc.

We can use alcohol to dissolve the virus protein. We will use the colloquial term "killed it".

Informative though, most do not know virus not a life form it requires a host to tap into it's cells to replicate it cannot self replicate.
