Bugger...
I have an intermittent front left centre PDC sensor and had hoped I could extract the unit via the tow hook port... I've just been in the garage trying this out. Working through the left tow-hook port (cover removed) and using dental picks etc. I can release both retainer clips from the sensor, and push the sensor back, but there is insufficient clearance in the bumper foam etc. to allow the sesnor to move far enough back so you can pull it from the bumper.
Pity....
