Without tone and intonation It's *really* hard to judge if somebody is just busting somebody's balls as a friend teasing another friend. Good example i can't share the exact details, but one of my xo buddies sent me a super amazingly raunchy joke, so i made that his nickname on my phone so now when he calls I see 'holy shit did somebody really say that' (paraphrasing because i can't share in mixed company (or with anybody not the 'new nickname' person).

Reading the post above, It leans in Maruzo's favor and the your highness though seemingly a mean spirited jab that had no point in a letter of supposed apology; if you use sarcasm in an apology it's no apology, however, 'in M's mind', he said sorry, but in Happy's mind He just saw sarcasm and it's a lose-lose. A proper apology goes something like "yup your right i was bing a dipshit, sorry about that".

My take is that M was 'being a smartass' (always better than a dumbass), and was basically saying 'you're mama'. Kid humor just meant to get a rise out of somebody (again not appropriate in a mia culpa).

Don't try to ad humor to an apology it's a common defense mechanism but it usually negates the apology. (with the exception exampled above where the humor is self-deprocating (i can't spell that word; not even close enough to warrant a suggested replacement ).

If i say something that sounds 'super harsh' I'm 'busting your balls' If i deem somebody a worthy sparing partner, I can do the verbal beat-down like a pro. I have lines that wold make anthony jeselnik blush. Even in cases where i've cut lose a soon to be ex-friend, I'll be using facts to back my words not pointless insults.

The reason that dialog 'goes to M' is that rather than a 'wtf, that's not nice', Happy doubled down and spit back in the face of M vs. 'nice try but how bout a simple 'sorry pal no harm intended i was just being a smartass trying to be funny'.

Like i've said 2-3 times above; 'families fight' it's no big deal, call it a draw and learn from the past so you can 'read the room' and insult yourself once in a while because you know deep inside you deserve it, it's great for your humility. Try to 'double down' on an insult that somebody throws at you, and show them they suck at put-downs.

"mother nature" sends out some 'scrubbing bubbles' once in a while to de-funk like us taking a shower; sometimes it's just a light rinse, sometimes it's a silk wood scrub down. cv19 will end up being a pretty significant 'blip' in the annals of history but *nothing* compared to the plagues of yesteryear.
