NickMarch1978 is on a distinguished road
It turned out there was the remnants of a (literally) ripped our phone cradle, the type that sit in the centre dash box (with the double doors) and the previous keeper had badly taped up the ends and stuffed them behind the broke cradle through a hole, this was a fire waiting to happen!

Anyway I stripped off the interior side panels of the centre console and chased the cable back to its proper connector and disconnected it and replaced the panels.

I've also replaced fuse F110 and it has not blown. However, there is still no Bluetooth, I just get the 'please wait' message forever if I try connecting via audio or telephone, also my phone does still not find my X5 in the list of available devices , it's as if the car does just not have bluetooth at all.

I'm going to check all the other fuses again but I'm starting to think the Bluetooth module, which I believe is in the form of a 'combox' has failed. There is a pic of this 'combox' in my original post circled in blue, could someone let me know if a)that is a combox and b)does the combox control the bluetooth on the BMW X5 E70 2010 (LCI)?

Thanks again, Nick
