What Overboost said is right, you can get some REALLY bright LEDs for the angle eyes, what I've done is run the "ballast" outside the headlight case and seal the small hole I drilled up with silicone.


I have 40watt LEDs in mine now, they're brighter than OEM for sure but as you'll find, the actual overall brightness is limited by the optic that BMW used in the headlight, not the brightness of the bulb you can install unfortunately.


Unless you want to get in to some serious work opening up the headlight itself and installing new rings, the best you'll probably be able to do is go with the Weisslicht LEDs OB calls out and enjoy what you can, its WAY cheaper and WAAAY easier in the long run
