One thing I learned from this forum is that when it comes to the ZF tranny... go with original equipment, it's just too big of a gamble not too.
I did what you did, I picked up a filter and gasket kit that they happened to have in stock at my local NAPA Auto Parts store. Everything looked like it was on the up and up so to speak but the gasket wasn't the OEM material so when I torqued the pan it actually "crushed" the gasket and made it weep... so I to got the benefit of multiple fluid changes (unintentionally of course)
