Yes, correct! I usually jack up the front axle and turn the steering wheel left to right [when checking SAS functionality]. (you dont need the engine on to do this since the front axle is unladen)

In terms of the DSC, look at all of your wheel speed and manually spin the wheels to see if they report logical data. Obviously if you turn one wheel, the corresponding wheel will turn at the same rate (granted you are in park and wheels are suspended).
