I have an aftermarket extended warranty and recently had some work done. The dealer called the warranty company (Continental) and they wanted to send an adjuster out to check the work before it was performed, so I had to leave my X there overnight until he came out to look at it. I really don't like that idea - I know they have to make sure the dealer is not lying about the work, but it was about $1400 worth of work and I ended up having to pay about $713. Continental doesn't even cover all of the hourly labor charge ($95 per hour) - they cover $75 per hour.......so I pay $20/hour labor. I should've paid a few hundred more and got the BMW warranty - no questions asked and wouldn't have to wait for someone to 'inspect' the work being performed.......
