Well, I'm throwing in the towel with this trans. At least as far as fluid changes goes. Did one last drain and fill. This time with Redline and a half bottle of Lucas trans fix. Threw the same 3-4 gear code and failsafe each time 4th gear was requested.

On the bright side, it must have coughed out whatever was clogged causing it to stall out the engine as that behavior has cleared.

Gave the wife all the options, sell as is for $2500, take to a shop and spend $4000 replacing the trans, or I do it myself for around $1000. She chose the last option so I will be buying a trans Jack soon. Going to park the truck until I get that and the replacement trans squared away. I wish she didn't love this truck so much. LoL

Just an update to the thread. Looks like the e clutch bushing is indeed shot as the valve body rebuilder warned me. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
