I hope that's a sarcastic comment because of 2 things:
1. The virus was already here, it has not caused country wide infection yet because it needs time to spread.
So the fact that it wasn't a threat then did not mean it won't become one.
2. Trump showed in the recording that he knew this virus will cause wide spread infection and that it is much deadlier than a regular flu virus. In fact it has no known cure.
His unwillingless to educate the public about the deadly potential of this virus directly caused 10s of thousands more death than is necessary.
While the virus was always going to kill people, it would have killed much less people if the public were notified by the president of its actual potential to kill early on.
But, like he said, he wanted to "play it down".
So a big percentage of those dead is on him, not on anyone else.
So why would Woodward's recording be moot??
