The 4.4 also has an issue with the valley pan. The engine design separates the coolant from the oil galley with a pan across the galley. Brilliant design. So there often a coolant leak from the back of the engine. A little project to replace taking the intake manifold off to get there. There is an improved design plan with a better gasket. Just another tidbit to know about on the 4.4.
