One thing I'd HIGHLY recommend doing while you have the trans out is the detents. They tend to stick over time (and make your shifter lean toward 5th instead of springing back to the center). The parts are only a few dollars and not that hard to install.

Hahaha... I love you guys! I try to remember as much as I can to keep my brain healthy.
I totally agree with the detents repair, as well as your shift linkage bushings.
Edit: And compliment it with an E46 ZHP shift knob.
