After some more back and forth with their support, we have come to a solution. I will be sending my broken head unit to them this week and in return they will send me a refurbished back as a replacement. All in all, it might not be ideal, but I think it‘s pretty reasonable. Hopefully the replacement will arrive quickly and won‘t have issues.

Another update:
Full points to XTRONS customer support! Few days ago I got my replacement unit, the whole exchange with shipping took 6 business days. The new unit works perfectly now! Absolutely no screen issues and GPS connects in a heartbeat. Hoping this will be a long term one now
