I nave actually used (to good succes) a pair of pliers you use to take nails out of wood, though not sure what the english work is I guess the sharp edges give good initial grip, just don't overdo on the pressure or you need a new clamp

found a good deal on winter tyres (pirellis scorpions) with 5mm of thread on good 19 inch alloys. Have to say tyre noise is greatly reduced and the car is definitely a bit more comfy because of the extra rubber



looks a bit less bad-ass though
