I know its a few years down the line ... but i partly followed this excellent guide this afternoon. What i would say is that you dont need to do 99% of what is written ...

Simply remove the centre airvent, then move the bar shown below from left to right using a centre punch and the glovebox lid will come off.

There is another arm held on by a small tab, but that will be obvious once the lid is partially removed:



Time to change the glovebox lid was approx 10 mins using this method
