Thanks, that was (or still is) my original assumption as well (an Axle CV joint going out) so ended up removing the right-rear wheel to inspect callipers, parking brake, dust shield, etc. could not find anything wrong -at least visually-

While I was doing that, I tried to test the CV joint and grabbed the axle and tried to rotate back and forth, however, in the process, I "pushed" it towards the differential and it slide-in about 1 inch. I could not replicate the noise so decided to put the wheel back. I did not expect anything to change but surprisingly the clicking noise was gone (!) it was puzzling but it was gone.....at least for a few weeks (WTH?) as is now back.

Now the clicking noise goes on/off, some days is there, some days is not.......although I expect to be related to the Axle(s) and have that planned to replace in one way or another, the nature of it disappearing for a few days is very strange. Also, it sounds now when braking --which before it did not--
