Combox replaced the TCU and MULF in newer E70. HUD also uses Most fiber so that is a 3rd module you need to troubleshoot. I assume there is no image in the HUD? Do you have the DVD player in the glove box? That is also a Most component. Forgot about that one but I don't think that is your issue.
The connector under the glove box is X16956. See the attached diagram. Those segments of fiber go between the CIC and the HUD. So one of those components is not passing the signal. Check HUD fuses.
If good, the next easiest thing to do is remove the face trim of the CIC. Open glovebox, grab edge of vents and pull out. Remove 2 screws at top of trim and remove trim. You can now see a 4mm hole in the front of the CIC metal to the left of the hard drive. At just the right angle, you should see a blinking LED coming from the Most origination area of the CIC PCB. The LED is 4" or so back on the board.
