BMW X5 E53 Mileage Input

I have owned many BMW's over the years, and I tend to want to keep them for the long term, so it all comes down to maintenance, and I don't mean factory specifications, but every 7500 at most with full synthetic oil and no cheap Chinese crap filters is secret to longevity.

I just sold my 03 4.4 X5 with 235500 on it, never burned a drop of oil, not even the smoke after long idle from valve seals. I did replace valve cover gaskets at 212K as they were leaking into spark plug recesses. Only engine parts replaced were timing chain tensioner at 212K when I did gaskets and plugs. I did cam solenoid at 231K as passenger bank started missing randomly suddenly. Original cam chain guides, amazing.

When I think back over the years, yes, hoses went, rear PCV was replaced when hoses collapsed due to winter and moisture. Water tank leak, hoses replaced, but overall, amazing vehicle. Battery lasted over 7 years, Alternator lasted to 195K. Radiator replaced at 189K. Usual window guides, one door handle, one driver door lock latch assembly, usual speedo digits out, but overall, one of the best BMW's I have owned, sorry it is gone, but transmission was getting a little off occasionally and would hang up in third while in sport mode, did services three times, so figured it was time to move on.
