Get a copy of BMW Scanner 1.4, the correct OBD cables, and follow this video.
If you are a halfway decent mechanic and have a little IT knowledge you should be able to align the DME and EWS system

You can also use Carsoft 6.5. I did it for a couple of BMW owners back in the days.
